Junior League of Cedar Rapids is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving our community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. During our 82 year history, we have been proud to serve Cedar Rapids and our surrounding communities.
Our current community project working with teens aging out of foster care, known as Bridging the G.A.P. (Guide. Advocate. Provide.), continues to be an immensely successful program. In addition to our ongoing work, we recently implemented a scholarship program that has provided camp experiences, laptops, emergency assistance, and much more to the teens we serve. Coming up this year, we are working with several community partners to enhance our one-on-one mentoring opportunities.
As the scope of the program continues to grow, we are seeing an increase in the number of donors to support the continued delivery. Last year, we received over $50,000 in project donations, corporate sponsorships, grants and in-kind donations. We also experienced record attendance for our Butterfly Kisses and Fostering Strength Fundraisers.
This much needed work would not be possible if it were not for our outstanding members. These women give of their time, talents, and funds to ensure we continue moving forward in fulfilling our mission.
