What is #GivingTuesday?
#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that encourages people to donate to a non-profit they are passionate about. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season.
How do I donate to the Junior League of Cedar Rapids?
It’s easy. You can donate online. Follow the link below, choose the Annual Fund 2016-2017, and enter your donation amount. Any amount is welcome and supports our mission and programs.
How does my contribution impact our community?
The League’s fundraising efforts, teamed with our trained volunteers, ensure maximum impact of your gift. Your contribution to the Annual Fund can directly impact our efforts to work with foster youth in the Cedar Rapids area. Each year, as teens “age out” of the foster care system when they turn 18 or graduate from high school, they need support in independent living. JLCR’s “Provide” part of its Bridging the G.A.P. (Guide. Advocate. Provide) project gives these teens a suitcase filled with household items like bedding, towels, cleaning supplies, and pots and pans. The JLCR project also helps JLCR fund the Junior League of Cedar Rapids (JLCR) Scholarship Fund to provide financial assistance to those currently within, or having recently aged out of, the foster care system. Your tax-deductible contribution will financially support these life-changing programs and help train and educate League members to be effective community leaders.
