2008-2009 Junior League of Cedar Rapids Events Three lucky girls from Taylor Elementary School were given the unique opportunity to spend a memorable afternoon with their fathers at Junior League of Cedar Rapids' (JLCR) 7th Annual Butterfly Kisses event on Sunday, February 8, 2009. The girls selected from the Taylor School 3 Wish List received tickets to the event, Von Maur gift cards to purchase dresses and shoes, and complimentary hair and nail services, all courtesy of JLCR. The girls' fathers received suits, courtesy of Holley's.

Iron Chef Cedar RapidsCibo Fusion was awarded the coveted title of "Iron Chef" as Junior League of Cedar Rapids (JLCR) hosted its third annual competition Wednesday, March 4, at the Mansfield Center on the Kirkwood Community College campus. The student team from the Kirkwood Community College Hospitality Program defended its title against chefs from Beckett's Public House (winner of last year's People's Choice award), Cibo Fusion, and Linn Street Café. KCRG's Beth Malicki and 100.7 The Fox's Faye Dudley emceed the event with over 200 people in attendance.
